Dear Readers,

Greetings. The fast-growing Indo-Canadian economic collaboration touched a new high following the visit to India in April of the Canada Trade Mission 2005, led by International Trade Minister James Peterson and comprising more than 70 business tycoons and government officials. The cover story of Trade Links highlights the Canada Trade Mission's accomplishments. It includes some of the successful deals that Canadian and Indian businessmen had struck during the Mission's five-day visit of Mumbai and Delhi. We also carry a photo feature of the Mission during its sojourn in Mumbai. Another offshoot of the Mission was the agreement between India and Canada on collaboration in science and technology. We carry a report. Canada, which performed very well on the economic front in 2004, expects to do even better in 2005. We present a brief review. Research is on across the globe to explore the advantages of biotechnology for the benefit of human beings. Canada is among the front-runners in this field and has just released a report, called Biotechnology and the Health of Canadians. This issue offers details of the report. There is an interesting product profile of an innovation by Micro Technologies, called Micro VBB, a total security solution for cars and other vehicles against thefts. We admire entrepreneurs having a long-term vision and an insatiable urge to diversify and grow. Dr. K. T. N Murthy is one such, whose Amruthakrishmna Group of companies is venturing into healthcare. We carry a detailed interview. Canada, a large country that is bestowed with nature's incredibly varied bounty, is the increasingly preferred destination by tourists from across the world, whose numbers are rising steadily. Among the great sights not to be missed is the Kananaski Valley, which offers year-round excitement for the adventurous. A colourful feature on the Valley beckons you to its rugged mountains, grasslands and fast moving waters. Plus there are other regular features.
Wish you happy reading,
