Core infra industries grow at faster 8.7 pc

India's infrastructure industries grew by a faster 8.7 percent in February 2008, lending hopes of a revival in industrial production growth and in turn a higher rate of economic expansion. The growth of six core infrastructure industries during April-February 2007-08 was, however, slower at 5.6 percent against 8.7 percent in year-ago period due to sluggish growth in preceding months.
