Pradesh Considered Best in Investment, Education and Health |
| The State of Himachal Pradesh in India has been once again ranked the best-governed state in the country with regard to progress in road connectivity and social sectors like education and health, according to official sources. The ranking includes, the best state in terms of investment in environment, primary education and health and has been rated second in terms of consumer market, macro-economy and infrastructure by the news magazine 'India Today'. The hilly state has been adjudged the first state in the country to achieve the target of universalisation of elementary education and 100 percent literacy, even ahead of Kerala. Recent data indicates that Himachal Pradesh had 20 percent enrolment in colleges, which was twice the national average. The state has become role model for other states when it comes to development priorities. It accorded top priority to roads, health, education and self-employment. In one of the earlier surveys by the magazine, Himachal Pradesh was ranked third in categories of health, law and order and education. |
