Americans Prefer Businesses to Jobs in Recession Times

Through a recent survey conducted in the United States, it was clearly projected that Americans preferred to set up their own business than join a job during the recession. The percentage in the survey increased from 36 to 48 percent from January 2009.

The survey also highlighted the fact that the trust in business in US had bounced back from a 10-year low. At the same time, the survey was conducted in India, France, Germany and it showed quite a positive trend towards business in all these countries as well. Countries like China and United Kingdom still showed a negative curve.

The President and Chief Executive of Edelman the PR agency which conducted the whole survey stated that "Trust in business is on the way back, but we were still in the middle of the game".

The survey was entirely conducted through telephone calls made to different individuals aged 24-64 in six countries. During the survey, the agency spoke to about 1,675 adults.
