The renowned director James Cameron is coming up with his new brainchild 'Avatar', which is entirely a 3-D film. The director came into limelight with his epic movie, 'The Titanic', which did a huge business of $1.8 billion worldwide.
As a new marketing gesture, Avatar's 16 minute trailer is projected in 120 IMAX in US and in abroad. It is a very distinguished event in Hollywood as rarely any studios show the clippings of their movies before four months of the schedule release.

The movie is sailing in the market with high expectations. As Cameron is coming up with this new venture after 14 years. It will not only give the movie goers something new but at the same time it will open new vistas for the 3-D animation industry.

The story of the movie revolves around a paraplegic soldier who travels to a distant planet called Pandora. 'The movie is made with a huge budget of $200 million', Fox studio spokesperson said.

When in Hollywood it has become a challenge to produce original movies because in the last few years the directors have to depend on the franchise based pre-existing properties such as "Harry Potter," "Twilight" and 'Batman'. Here, 'Avatar' is a new of its kind as this story is not depicted in any books or comics.

The main objective of the special screening is to create a new platform for the film amongst all the performed franchises "We just needed to plant it in the public consciousness," says Cameron.

Immediately after the ticket became available on the film's website the website crashed with the huge load of the fans who are logging in for the free passes. Within 90 sec, 17,000 free passes were sold out.

According to the creator of the movie, Avatar's main strength is the unique visuals and wonderful narrative style. The longer clips will certainly give a clear idea about the entire format of the film. "Trailers have great reach but shallow depth," he says. "People know that you can have a good trailer with a bad film, but by showing 16 minutes-you really allow audiences to fondle the fabric of a film." Some of the overseas screenings are on regular-size screens, but all are in 3-D.

The Fox studio is also planning to dub the film to increase the viewers of the film. Also the film will be available in gaming format and it will be launched in the market in the same day of the film launch. Ubisoft will create the gaming format of the movie.

According to Fox studio, both the Cameron movies, Titanic and Avatar have same pattern of storyline as in both the movies a wonderful love story is weaved in a very efficient way.

The story of the film revolves around the planet called Pandora which is ruled by Navi. War erupts as humans invade the planet. Jake Sully (Worthington) one of the protagonist, a paralyzed marine find himself amidst of the war then he volunteer's himself to become an 'Avatar' then he becomes a hybrid of Navi's and human forms.

Cameron believes that not only the storyline of the movie is attractive but at the same time the technology and the 3-D effects which are used is entirely new. It will give a realistic feeling to the viewers when they will watch the entire film. "It's as if we got onto a starship, went to Pandora, and photographed all this stuff," says Cameron. "That's how it feels to us, and that's how we want people to see it."
