  US Healthcare Reforms Get $1.5-billion IT Boost
 
 
     
 
Healthcare is taking a new turn in the US. After Barrack Obama, the newly elected President came into power, this issue of healthcare have been a major concern for the Democrats. Recently, the Obama Administration has taken some reformative steps to upgrade the US healthcare system. It has decided to spend about $1.5 billion to create an electronic healthcare record system. This entire technology will not only build a centralize data for the entire healthcare system but at the same time it will also make it a cost effective thing.
As much as $598 million will be used to create 70 healthcare information technology centers which will help the health care institutions acquire electronic health care record system and another $564 million to develop nationwide networks, as told by the Vice president Joe Biden's office.

According to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, "Expanding the use of electronic health records is fundamental to reforming our health care system,"

With the introduction of the electronic healthcare system, the entire healthcare management will assume a new dimension. It will become more efficient and accurate and the Americans will get a better and improved healthcare system in the future, added Sebelius.

This grant will be issued under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and will be used in 2010.
